Palo Santo, or Sacred Tree (Bursera graveolens) in the form of natural incense has been used for centuries in ritual ceremonies to cleanse a room of negative energy and bad emotions. Palo Santo incense contains aromatic resin with a high content of natural essential oils, making it free of artificial fragrance enhancers. The beautiful, very original, sweet and resinous aroma of the wood promotes quietness and concentration.
Natural incense Palo Santo (Sacred Tree) is acreamy yellow piece of dried wood extracted from the naturally fallen, dead Bursera graveolens tree, which grows in the dry tropical forests of North America and Central America. The incense is characterised by a spicy and woody and delicately citrusy fragrance, with slightly powdery notes.
The origins of the use of Palo Santo for incense date back to the traditions of the ancient Inca civilisations, where it was used in spiritual ceremonies. Beliefs indicate that the smoke brings good luck, drives away evil thoughts, happiness, as well as evil spirits.
The soothing and relaxing fragrance of this unusual wood still restores peace and balances emotions today.
Despite the circulating controversy - according to the IUCN Red List and CITES the Bursera graveolens tree is not a critically endangered species. Nevertheless, care should be taken to ensure that Palo Santo incense is certified and is sourced from dead, naturally fallen trees.
When the incense is finished, leave the incense on the ceramic or stone stand until it extinguishes on its own, or extinguish it if necessary. An extinguished Palo Santo can be set off sometimes.
Never leave lit incense unattended. Keep product away from children and animals.
