Clove oil is obtained from the buds of a tree called the clove tree (Syzygium aromaticum) from the Myrtacae family. The plant occurs naturally in Indonesia, Madagascar, Zanzibar and other regions of the equatorial zone. The buds intended for the production of the oil are usually harvested before they bloom (i.e. from August to February), because it is then that they contain the most of this valuable material.
Clove oil has been a treasure for centuries. Once stored in golden baskets, today it is available to everyone, and its use continues to amaze. The product is widely used in pharmacology, dentistry, cosmetology and aromatherapy.
Known for its complex, spicy fragrance - slightly spicy with a hint of sweetness, it offers much more than an unusual aroma. Clove oil is an effective antimicrobial agent - it eliminates many common pathogens (including viruses, bacteria and fungi). It will work well in the case of minor wounds and scratches, but also inhalation treatments during respiratory infections or severe symptoms of inhalation allergy.
The oil has an anesthetic and warming effect - it soothes rheumatic and muscular pains (of various origins), especially when combined with a gentle massage. The extract is an effective repellant - although it repels insects, when used topically, it will also cope with the unpleasant symptoms of insect bites. Clove oil has antioxidant properties - it is a natural source of antioxidants, it is a great supplement to daily skin care. Used in aromatherapy, it stimulates and energizes, improves concentration and sharpens the mind. It refreshes the air in a comprehensive way - it not only gives a great smell, but also eliminates many harmful microorganisms.
