Neroli oil is extracted from the fresh flowers of the bitter orange tree (Citrus aurantium L.). Interestingly, orange oil (from the fruit) and petitgrain oil (from the leaves) are also obtained from the same plant, although it is important to keep in mind that these are completely different products - both in terms of smell and properties. Neroli oil (due to its unique fragrance) is one of the most widely used natural extracts in perfumes. And it's hardly surprising, the perfect combination of floral and citrus notes, although simple, makes an incredible impression.
It has a very rich chemical composition, which, according to studies, shows effective antimicrobial activity, eliminating several common strains of bacteria and fungi. Without fear, it can also be used for upper respiratory tract infections (in the form of inhalation).
The oil has an extremely positive effect on the skin - it stimulates the development of the epidermis. Although it is recommended for dry, sensitive and tired skin, it will actually benefit any type. It will mattify, nourish and regenerate, with maximum gentleness.
Neroli used in aromatherapy means a wonderful fragrance, that's for sure. But what about beyond that? As recent studies have shown, neroli oil has a great effect on the mental sphere. It shows sedative, anti-anxiety and antidepressant effects. Importantly, it alleviates symptoms associated with menopause and improves the quality of life for women during this period. Regular (skillfully performed) massage with neroli oil helps get rid of cellulite and can reduce the appearance of stretch marks (as well as prevent new lesions). Neroli oil will also work well as a natural air freshener at home - it is great for eliminating unpleasant odors.
