White Sage essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves of the aromatic shrub Salvia apiana. The plant is an important element in the spiritual ceremonies of many cultures, where it is referred to as "sacred sage." Virtually all parts of the shrub are used in natural medicine, which shows best how valuable a resource is not only the plant, but also White Sage essential oil.
White sage has many traditional uses, which can easily be used today as well. It is known to support the body during respiratory disorders (such as infections) and is suitable for cosmetic use. It improves the overall condition of the skin, moisturizes and soothes irritation. Often used as an interesting fragrance additive to skin care products - shampoos and lotions, as well as hygiene products - soaps and bath preparations.
The oil has a distinct fragrance - herbal, camphor and fresh with cool notes. It helps clear the mind, relieves anxiety, improves memory and concentration. The product is sometimes helpful during mood drops and sleep problems. It blends very well with other essential oils, especially those with a distinctly floral, sweet scent.
It is a great complement to relaxation treatments such as baths and massages, and when used in an aromatherapy diffuser it provides an intriguing, long-lasting aroma with many health-promoting properties. While the benefits of using the oil are already exciting, scientists suspect that there are still many benefits left to be discovered.
